The delightful village of Longeville sur Mer......

Life in the village - The village have around 2,000 inhabitants, but there's plenty going on.  The shops can cater for most of your everyday needs, with a good range of small shops, a supermarket, bars and restaurants. During the summer months the town benefits from a twice weekly market held on Mondays and Fridays, so you can enjoy this typically French way of shopping for your fresh fruit and veg, local wines and cheeses, house wares, plants and even the latest fashions.

Longeville sur Mer –  The small market village of Longeville sur Mer is found amidst the lovely countryside of the Vendée department of western France, close to the Atlantic coast and on the edge of the Marais Poitevin. The village is typically French, with soft, grey stone buildings built in the traditional style, a lovely church as the village centrepiece and vibrant twice weekly markets.
This coastal area is a gourmet's delight! The large fishing port of l'Aiguillon is just 10 minutes away. Early risers visiting the town's fish market (open every weekday at 5am) will be able to choose from a range of freshly caught fish, mussels, oysters, langoustines & gambas.

You will find a comprehensive folder & glossy book in the property with our own write up of loads of local restaurants, child-friendly and & 'just for the grownups', that of course, we have had to research on your behalf! There’s also a great write up of our ‘top kids activity spots’ plus interesting places to visit & explore in the area and a list of the best beaches to visit - so again it's all there for you, all you need to do is choose where to go first!
Out and about - Beau Rivage is supremely well placed for access to all the very best of the region's attractions. The seaside resort of La Tranche sur Mer is almost on the doorstep, at less than a ten-minute drive away. Here you can find clean, golden sands, a sunny microclimate (worthy of the south of France) and great family entertainment. Not much further afield are the calm and scenic waterways of the Marais Poitevin and stunning vistas of vineyards, sunflowers and poppies, depending on the season.
Enjoy colourful village festivals - The village hosts some fabulously colourful festivals too, ranging from "moules-frites" meals at a communal table in the village square to jazz concerts, firework displays and children's events, so ask at the town's Office de Tourisme to find out the schedule and how to book tickets if required.
